Most people in District 3 contribute no money at all! Where does all this money come from, then? Developers, and possibly organizations that blatantly expect improper favors from elected officials.

I thought the candidates were supposed to represent the people in their districts? But if the people in their districts cannot finance the campaigns of those they expect to serve them who will? Outside interests. You knew that - I know you knew that!

I don't claim to know every donor to my campaign well, but I have met them all. You can look at the reports of all three of us and see if you can find any donor that YOU know. Mine will be the easiest to analyze, only a few donors. Nobody gave more than $50 to my campaign except myself.

It is primarily about "redevelopment" in District 3. Redevelopment that directly displaces you, or radically changes your quality of life although perhaps allowing you continue your presence here in some shadow of a high rise, hemmed in by traffic and choking to breathe where there used to be air.

I made the investment of my own money, seemingly endless time and maximum effort because I value my home in Sarasota and I don't want to give it up without at least a little fight to some already rich person who doesn't even live in Sarasota or ever intend to, and certainly doesn't need more money! I think there are many like me in District 3 who would donate if they had any spare money, and/or volunteer if they weren't already working three jobs for a third of the money they need.
