Thanks to Control Growth Now for endorsing my candidacy! It sometimes seems that CGN is the only voice of restraint remaining as, one seat after another, the government appears to be selling out to "business". Don't get me started on "the press" . . . But do the neighborhoods have to give up? It is certainly getting hard to fight with both the government and the press sold out. Why is "business" getting a blank check from the government? The presenting reason is that "business" creates jobs. Sure, in India! The real reason is that huge bundle of $200 campaign contributions all the members of the various governmental bodies got in the last election cycle, and hope to get again and again. "They" aren't even trying to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest at the state level! My take is that "business" got us where we are. Why do we have to encourage more of the same with our tax dollars? Readers of my campaign reports will note that no one in "business" gave me $200. If you elect me, I will work for you! |
